Patsy C. Ewing
1961 – 2015
Patsy passed away Jan. 18, 2015, while vacationing in Belize where she loved to go to escape Alaska winters. Patsy was born April 13, 1961, to RC and Patsy Lyon in El Paso, Texas. Patsy’s family moved to Delta Junction in 1977 where she graduated from Delta Junction High School and met the love of her life, Kevin Ewing. Kevin and Patsy were married Sept. 29, 1979, and moved to Aspen, Colorado, for a brief time.
Her family said, “It was the love for Alaska they both shared that brought them back to Delta in 1980 where they raised their two children, Lowen and Tressa. Patsy had various jobs throughout her life; she worked at the local bank, Delta High School, owned and operated the Energy Center where she did massages, and she and Kevin owned and operated the Clearwater Lodge where you could find her either behind the bar or just doing what needed to be done. Patsy was always willing to host charity events, weddings and other functions at the Clearwater; anything that needed to be done to help someone out, she was there.
“Patsy loved sports and the competition that went with it. She loved playing softball, hockey, volleyball and basketball. She was always up for an adventure and new experiences. Patsy’s latest adventure was scuba diving. Being underwater with all the natural wonders around her, she thought, was transcendent and tranquil like being in a whole new world.
“Patsy had a fun loving spirit about her, along with an outgoing personality, smile and laugh. If you ever needed anything, she was there to help. On any given day you could find her speeding up and down the road between Delta and Fairbanks for hockey, the Clearwater or just to go have some fun. Patsy loved music and dancing; whenever she heard the beat, her feet would start tapping and then you would find her on the dance floor moving to the music.
“While Patsy goes to join her father, RC, and friends who have already passed on, she leaves behind her husband, Kevin; son Lowen; daughter Tressa; son-in-law Dan; her two beautiful granddaughters, Arabella and Liliana; sister Lita; and brother Larry, all of Delta Junction; mother, Patsy; and brother, Ronnie, both of Ingleside, Texas; along with many nieces and nephews, plus many dear friends. Patsy will be dearly missed and treasured by all who knew her.”
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at the First Baptist Church in Delta Junction.
