2018 Extension Month in Delta Mini Classes
Join the Cooperative Extension Service and the Delta Partners for Progress in celebrating the arrival of spring with four weeks of FREE mini classes.
Classes run from 1 to 3 hours and will be held either in the CES Conference Room in the Jarvis Office Center or at the Delta Career Advancement Center

Birch Tapping, Tammie Kovalenko, Salcha-Delta Soil and Water Conservation District Youth Development Agent. Learn how to tap a birch tree and what to do with the birch water. Tammie will have examples and supplies to inspire the birch tapper in all of us. Delta Career Advancement Center

Strategies for Growing a Highly Productive, Intensive, Small-Space Garden, Agriculture and Horticulture Agent Julie Riley, UAF Cooperative Extension Service, Fairbanks. How many vegetables and herbs can you squeeze into a raised bed garden? Extension agent Julie Riley planted 24 varieties of vegetables, herbs and edible flowers in a 50-square-foot organic garden this past summer. She measured garden productivity, calculated the value of the produce grown and recorded the cost, time and amount of water it took to grow a beautiful garden.
