Local skater Eli Grossmann is playing Major Junior hockey for the Seattle
Thunderbirds in the Western Hockey League. Recently his Dad, Bruce and sisters
Annie and Sarah flew down to watch him play 2 games. They were joined by older
brother Ben who flew in from San Francisco to enjoy the games as well. The
Thunderbirds won both games 6-4 and 6-0. The team is currently in first place in
the US Division of the WHL. This photo is of Bruce, Annie, Eli, Sarah and Ben

General Comments
These have been lightly edited for spelling, punctuation, and

-Photo
of the day should be of interest to all who live here, like
wildlife, scenery, a community event, etc. Births &
weddings of strangers appeal only to a limited group of people.
-You folks are doing a great job, Keep it up.
-Fewer pictures of babies/grandkids, maybe limit to one a week.
More pictures by Mike Kingston. In general, I think you do a
great job -- I know how hard it can be to get people to submit
things!
-I don't think businesses or professionals should be allowed to
use "story" space for advertising.
-Get the forums online and more user friendly and stream lined,
such as the forums at
www.snowest.com for example. I like the daily
pictures, I just wish there were more that came in that were of
people rather than nature. I enjoy the Delta High Alumni
pictures the most. Keep up the good work.
-Hello, I am a BIG fan of of this wonderful site and I really
appreciate your efforts.
-I am delighted to be able to check on the events in Delta and
to keep up on news of the people we met traveling up there for
many years.
-I believe the Delta News Web is a great asset to the community.
Appreciate the effort that goes into this endeavor.
-I check the Delta News Web daily. I need to go to another
source to check stock reports. Is there any interest from others
to include a "Get Quotes" button?
-I enjoy the Delta site and visit all the time. Keep up the good
work.
-I go to the site because I grew up in Delta and want to find
news on the town and the people. I would love to see pictures of
area businesses and places to see what they look like now. I
would like to maybe see a listing of residents.
-I lived in Delta Jct. for 7 years (1988 to 1995) and now live
in Anchorage, I still have many friends in Delta. My only
suggestion is to keep up the good work. I love the pictures that
are sent in. I'll be glad when the bulletin board is up and
running.
-I love the Delta news web, hope you can keep all the features
you currently have and it would be a bonus to have more. The
pictures of the day are awesome, always log in to come see them.
-I really liked the classified ads better before you changed the
format. You could see the newest ads at the top of the page now
you have to scan the whole page.
-I use this news web page for my home page both at work and at
home. I love it and use it a lot. I also give this site address
out to many inquirers to get a birds eye view of our city and
area.
-I would prefer to see the headlines at the top of the page and
the activity and meetings farther down.
Kids corner with links for kids between the ages of 5 to 1 or
so. Maybe a coloring contest page for young kids (Not sure if
you can scan in a colored picture from a kid for the different
season).
-Scroll type clock which counts down days til Thanksgiving,
Christmas, New Years..SUMMER :-). ETC
-Love the web site. I have been away from home for a while and
this is the best way to keep current. -Wish there were more
other Alaska related news. Such as snow conditions around the
area (summit, Healy, Delta, Valdez, etc) for vacation and
other planning. and state news (Fairbanks, Anchorage).
-Many thanks to you for providing news of Delta, its people, and
its wildlife. You are widely read and genuinely enjoyed! Warmest
greetings to you and to <local family>
-Please keep up the good work you have been doing. :)
-Put Delta Wind front page stories online
-Since the Delta Wind only comes out every 2 or so weeks, I
would like to see news here and wish more groups would list
their upcoming activities here.
-Thanks for providing a valuable community service. Keep up the
good work.
-The more community announcements, events to mark on your
calendar, the better - especially if you haven't made it to the
store recently to buy a paper. It would be nice if local
churches that are sponsoring activities, would also use the site
to announce about things.
-The only reason that some of the features are of little use to
me is because I no longer live in the Delta area. As a DHS
alumni, all the community info is still extremely important. I
hope the Delta News Web forum returns soon! DHS '93 alumni
-This site is extremely important to myself and my family. We
keep up with what is going on in Delta even when we are not
here. The community news is very helpful and the Delta Forum is
one of my favorites. I know this is a lot of work but I am
hoping you can continue to provide this great service.
-Thanks for all your efforts! We think you do a super job!!!
-Used the classified and got all kinds of spam in response
-We sure utilize the Delta News Web - glad to have a local
"bulletin board." Keep up the good work, and thanks.
-Would like local obituary so I can contact my remaining friends
from the 60s.
-You need fresh free lance writers that will appeal to a growing
community for both the young and mature. -You might consider a
write in Advice column along the lines of "Dear Abby". You might
also consider adding a historical Delta fact (one or two lines
of trivia) with the "Photo of the Day".
-Your doing a wonderful job, webmaster. Keep up the good work!
You're probably due for a raise!

Delta Alumni All School Reunion
Delta Alumni All Class Reunion coming this
summer. Pass the word, call your friends and begin the 1st of
many all-class reunions. I’ve heard from some. Hoping to
coordinate with the Chamber of Commerce’s 4th of July Event coming
this summer (2005). Along with lifelong Delta families, Delta has
also been blessed with so many students who have lived in Delta
because their parents were in the military here at Fort Greely.
These families don’t always stay in Delta but so many alumni want
to return and touch base with some of their friends and
classmates.
This will be the first of many all class reunions. I’m hoping to
coordinate this event every 5 years beginning this next summer.
In this way, people can make plans in advance to attend. Low key,
fun and a time to treasure old memories and continue contacts.

Delta Library Moving and Closing
Looking for an easy way to work off that extra
slice of Thanksgiving pie you know you won’t be able to resist?
The Delta Library can help! Mark your calendar for Saturday,
November 27 and come by the library at noon. We're moving heavy
furniture, computers and office equipment to the new library.
Moving everything, in fact, except for the books! (We’ll move
those Saturday, December 11th).
Volunteers who have signed up should expect a phone call sometime
during next two weeks to confirm availability. You can still call
895-4102 to sign up - many hands make light work!
The Library Board will provide coffee, cocoa, and treats at the
Community Center to keep you motivated during the day. If you’re
not a furniture mover, donations of baked goods would be a great
help. Drop them off anytime at City Hall or the Library and we’ll
tuck them in the freezer until needed, or bring them to the
Community Center anytime after noon on Saturday, November 27th.
The Delta Library will remain open at the present location through
Wednesday, November 24 at 6 p.m. and then will close to the public
until mid December. Please note that after Thanksgiving, the
outdoor book drop will be located at the new library at 2291
Deborah Street, and you may drop books in the return, even though
the library will be closed.
Thank you in advance for your patience while we get settled in the
new building. We’ll be busy unpacking, setting up the new
computer system, and organizing the new bookshelves. We should be
able to open the doors to your new Delta Community Library on
Friday, December 17.

Students at Denali Lutheran Preschool show one of the three boxes they packed as
a special project for Operation Christmas Child. The boxes will be sent, along
with thousands of others, to children all around the world who would otherwise
receive no Christmas gift at all. The class knows that their boxes will go to
children in Eastern Russia. Mrs. Grossmann's class packed the boxes specifically
for a boy or girl ages 3-5 with books, toys, socks, mittens, slippers and candy,
a flashlight and a toothbrush. They also included a letter and class photo for
the child who will receive the package. For the rest of the school year the
class will remember to pray for their special friend each day. Class members
