The annual Harvest Wrap-up will take place Tuesday, Nov. 27, in Delta Junction.
The gathering provides an opportunity for agricultural producers to hear about current research, share observations about the past season and help identify research needs. The University of Alaska Fairbanks Cooperative Extension Service will host the meeting, which will run from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Delta Career Advancement Center.
Researchers from UAF and the Salcha-Delta Soil and Water Conservation District will talk about spring wheat variety trials, spring wheat crop modeling to predict future growth, the wild oats cost-share program and the Noxious Weed Program. The Natural Resources Conservation Service will lead a Q&A session about the Environmental Quality Incentive Program and the Farm Service Agency will provide program updates.
Speakers will include Phil Kaspari, the Extension agent in Delta Junction; Bryce Wrigley and Toni Smith of the Salcha-Delta Soil and Water Conservation District; and Mingchu Zhang, Bob Van Veldhuizen and Stephen Harvey of the University of Alaska Fairbanks; and Lloyd Wilhelm of the Farm Service Agency.
