Lou Ann Fett, she creates the vision and directs the crew: Elder Barney, Flower Cole, Carol Defendach, Mike Farrar, Christine & Mike Lemly, John Lewis, Marjorie Martin, Christy Roden, Elder Semedeni, Nancy Williams, Salcha-Delta Soil and Water Conservation District, Andrea Richards & Baptist Church Ladies, Miss Holly Stewart’s New Horizons High School students and staff, and Miss Heather Magee’s Delta Twirlers and parents. These wonderful volunteers either helped to create the light display by hanging lights on trees, buildings, and decorations indoors and out. It was a busy time at the roadhouse, beginning in September when the post were set in the ground for the trees and the buildings hung with lights. Volunteers continued to finalize their displays until mid-November. Thank you to all who helped create this enchanted winter wonderland!
The day of the open house several volunteers showed up to lend their support for the lighting ceremony. Adeline Blum greeted the guests and guided them to door prizes, holiday photos – courtesy of Flower Cole and Katie Behrens; then on into the kitchen for goodies and hot drinks served by Sandy Dighton and Mary Ann Czmer. An array of cookies, breads and treats were provided by: Miss Holly’s Delta Greely Home School students, Adeline, Mary Ann, Sandy, Carol, Laurie Franks, Christine, and Christy. Terry Crowson and Barb McClean entertained the crowd with carols and laughter. The Delta Twirlers performed an impressive “Fire Baton” routine (in the sub zero temps with a wind chill) – Kicking off the lighting of the roadhouse. Piper Williams hosted a dessert auction to help raise money for “Feed a Family” for Christmas, many lovely baked goods were bid on and went home to a happy family. The SRH volunteers appreciate the support of the Delta Chamber of Commerce, the Delta Wind, and the Delta News Web. Thank you ALL– your commitment to this event is greatly appreciated.
Extra thanks to Mike and Christine for keeping the walkways clear and adjusting lights and décor – as needed.
Thanks to all who attended for your presence, adds to the magic of the roadhouse.
