James William Terry Sr. age 81, of Mesquite, Nevada, and Delta Junction, Alaska went on his final fishing journey to be with the Lord Thursday, August 11, 2016. He was born November 19, 1934 in Cleveland County, Arkansas to the late Virgil A. Terry and Freda Dixon Terry. James was raised in Rison, Arkansas and began traveling to Alaska soon after he married Dorthy Musgrove on October 17, 1955. James worked construction as a proud member of I.U.O.E. Local 302. He retired in the late 1980’s and was very fortunate to have 29 years of great times fishing, telling fish tales, bingo, casinos, family time, rest and relaxation.
One son, Roger Lee Terry; one brother, Thomas Havis Terry; and two sisters, Bonnie Terry Cummings and Betty Nell Wooley, preceded him in death.
Mr. Terry is survived by his wife of 60 years Dorthy Musgrove Terry; Son and daughter-in-laws, James and Theresa Terry Jr. of Delta Junction, Alaska; Fiona Terry of Delta Junction, Alaska; daughters and sons-in-law, Terresa and Lee Addison of Fairbanks, Alaska; Sharon and Dean Waldo of Delta Junction, Alaska; Karon and Kevin Dunklebarger of Bellefonte, PA; brother and sister-in-law, Bobby L. and Nora Terry of Rison, Arkansas; brother-in-law, Kenneth Wooley of Woodlawn; Arkansas; 19 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Marilyn Redd Pavilion, Marilyn Parkway, Mesquite, Nevada.
