Anchorage, Alaska – May 9, 2016 – Better Business Bureau serving the Northwest is accepting entries and nominations for the 2016 Business of the Year Torch Awards for Ethics.
“The Torch Awards pay homage to businesses who are aligned with BBB standards of trust,” Tyler Andrew, CEO, said. “We’re honored to recognize businesses with integrity who are doing all it can to make our communities great.”
The nomination deadline is June 5, 2016 and the application deadline is July 10, 2016. The award is open to accredited and non-accredited businesses in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington and Western Wyoming. In order to be considered businesses must maintain at least a “B” rating and hold a satisfactory record with BBB.
Finalists will be contacted in July and recipients will be notified by early fall. Businesses honored previously included an internet shopping company in Washington; tour company in Alaska; property management business in Oregon and a heating and air conditioning company in Idaho.
“Ethics and integrity to us, just means doing the right thing all the time,” said Lisa Whitney, co-owner of Ultimate Heating and Air in Idaho. “I really felt good filling out the application. I didn’t feel like, oh, we’re not very good here and we’re better here —everything was real consistent.”
