Washington, D.C. – The Alaska Congressional Delegation today announced three Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) grant awards to the State of Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities to be used in communities across the state.
Federal Aviation Administration (FAA):
– Kodiak Airport: Drainage System Improvements
$2,374,687,000 for the State of Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities for improvements to the Kodiak airport drainage system to protect the runway and taxiway pavement from deterioration.
– Fairbanks International Airport: Acquisition of Snow Removal Equipment
$ 1,775,625.00 for the State of Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities for the acquisition of new snow removal equipment, grader and loader with runway broom by the Fairbanks International Airport to enhance the ability to clear the airfield during adverse weather conditions.
– Akutan: Phase 7 Construction of New Airport
$ 5,000,000.00 to the State of Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities to fund phase 7 of 7 to complete construction of a new airport for the community of Akutan.
