The variety of speakers will talk about agriculture during the annual Delta Farm Forum Feb. 21 in Delta Junction.
The forum will run from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Delta High School small gymnasium. The welcome address will be given by Steve Sparrow, the interim dean of the UAF School of Natural Resources and Extension and director of the Agriculture and Forestry Experiment Station.
Lloyd Wilhelm will talk about the Farm Service Agency programs and orchard enthusiast Travis Czechowski will talk about production techniques for orchard crops suitable for the Delta area. Extension veterinarian Dr. Lisa Lunn will address livestock issues, and Anna Liljedahl, a professor from Institute of Arctic Biology and the Water and Environmental Research Center, will talk about glacier studies as they pertain to local watersheds. Members of the Delta FFA will also make a group presentation.
