On December 6, 7, 13 and 14, Delta Christian Drama Association will be presenting its 10th annual Christmas production, “Home for Christmas”. DCDA is a volunteer community charitable organization, and is not affiliated with any church or denomination. The production will be hosted by Living Waters Assembly of God.
“Home for Christmas” is an original stage play depicting the early orphan train years of American history. Between 1853 and 1929, over 250,000 homeless or abandoned children were collected from the streets of New York and other Eastern cities and transported by rail to be adopted on sight by rural Midwest families.
DCDA invites you to ride along as an assortment of street urchins from Manhattan begin their journey to find a family just in time for Christmas of 1890. Along the way you will encounter train robbers, unexpected plot twists and the unfailing care of a sovereign God who declares himself the defender of widows and orphans.
Admission is free. Everyone is invited. Door prizes and refreshments will be provided. A silent auction will be held on site to cover production costs.
