Join the Healing Hoofbeats/Midnight Sun Stock Crew 4-H and let the fun begin! This 4-H year will kick off October 14th at the Delta Career Advancement Center at 6 pm with meetings being held every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month. The Healing Hoofbeats is the horse section of the club while the Midnight Sun Stock Crew is the livestock portion of the club.
In this next year, the Healing Hoofbeats will be training for the Alaska State 4-H Horse Contest and will be holding one horse workshop per month to prepare for state. In addition, Healing Hoofbeats members have the fulfilling opportunity to volunteer for the local therapeutic riding program.
As a 4-H’er myself, I would like to mention that this club has helped me grow in many areas such as teamwork, and leadership, as well as public speaking. Both of these clubs have given me a chance to meet many new friends that otherwise I would have missed out on knowing.
The livestock portion is also a wonderful learning experience. You will have the opportunity to show animals, participate in market, learn about other animals, and understand the importance of money and record keeping. This club will also be holding one extra livestock workshop per month.
In both clubs I have learned so much about many different areas of life and about my animals. These clubs have also resulted in me believing I can do anything I dream as long as I try and give it my best. I would encourage everyone who is interested in animals to give 4-H a chance. Whether you are interested in the Healing Hoofbeats or the Midnight Sun Stock Crew, both clubs are great opportunities. Some of our leaders include Dani Markham, Kelly Dighton, and Carol McNabb. If you have any questions please call Dani Markham at 1-907-322-8367. We hope to see you October 14th at the Delta Career Advancement Center!
