Anchorage – Alaska Boxing Academy a local youth boxing nonprofit organization is pleased to announce that Arthur Tauiliili, 12 year-old, of Anchorage, was crowned champion of the eleven to twelve year-old, 114 lb. novice weight division at the 2014 Ringside World Championships held in Kansas City, Missouri, July 30th to August 2nd. Arthur Tauiliili is the youngest boxer from Alaska to win the tournament.
Ringside World Championships is an annual four day amateur boxing tournament that hosts national and international boxing teams. The boxers compete at levels of novice, open and masters divisions.
Arthur Tauiliili a student at Clark Middle School began training when he was 10 years-old at the Alaska Boxing Academy a local Anchorage nonprofit, under founder and head coach David Carey. This is Arthur Tauillili’s second year competing at the Ringside World Championship. Last year he placed 2nd in the tournament. This year’s 1st place has earned Arthur a belt as the reigning champion.
