The Delta Imagination Library is beginning its third year in the Delta Junction/ Fort Greely community. Over 200 children ages birth to 5 years have received free books annually. Locally the chapter of the Dolly Pardon Imagination Library was formed by a group of dedicated mothers, friends and supporters of early reading to children. All monies to support the program are raised by donation and grants from Best Beginnings. Best Beginnings is a statewide nonprofit who’s purpose is to promote early childhood development.
The chapter has many events year long. One of the most popular is the Christmas story time PJ party held at the Delta Community Library and the Annual birthday Party.
This year to celebrate its birthday the Imagination Library is joining with The Delta Chamber of Commerce and will participate in the Friendly Frontier Days. A story time and is planned for children ages birth to 5 years and registration forms will be available for parents to sign their children up to receive the free books.
Join the Imagination Library and enjoy the Friendly Frontiers Days June 7 at the Highway’s End Farmers Market. Story readings will be on going between 12 pm and 4pm.
