Thousands of Alaska youth prepare business plans, learn money management and leadership lessons Young Alaskans from Barrow to Ketchikan are learning what it takes to start a successful business as part of Lemonade Day Alaska on June 14.
In May and early June, kids attended money management workshops facilitated by Wells Fargo and partnered with local businesses to learn the small business ropes.
Lemonade Day Alaska participants are allowed to keep all of the money they raise from operations, but are encouraged to, “spend a little, save a little, and share a little with their community.”
More than 4,000 Alaska youth are expected to open up their lemonade stands (or other business) on June 14. Parents or youth sponsors can still sign up at www.Alaska.LemonadeDay.org and pick up their free backpacks at Wells Fargo locations in participating communities.
