Stop by the Delta Community Library from noon to 4 p.m. on Thursday, March 27 and visit the information table in celebration of “Choose Respect” day in Alaska. Free posters, brochures, buttons, stickers, wrist bands and more will be available in support of anti-bullying, domestic violence and suicide prevention. Our thanks to the Alaska Choose Respect team for providing these important safety materials for our community.
Also available will be information on “Drop, Cover and Hold On” — the three things you should do during an earthquake. Thursday, March 27 at 1:36 p.m. marks the 50th anniversary of the Great Alaskan Earthquake and Tsunami. The Library will have free tip sheets available on earthquake survival and preparedness. Friday, March 28 from 7 to 8:30, the Delta Library will present local educator, Pam Krepel, who will share photos and stories from her family archives about their experiences in Valdez during the 1964 Great Alaskan Earthquake. If you have photos or stories to share, bring them along to share with the audience after Pam’s slide show.
