FORT GREELY, AK – USAG Fort Greely Garrison Commander, Lt. Col. Brian Speas is committed to response for all EMS calls to include mutual aid between Fort Greely and the City of Delta Junction.
The commander’s priorities remain the safety and wellbeing of the installation workforce and residents, the protection of Fort Greely’s assets to include the infrastructure (mobile and immobile assets) and the fulfillment of Fort Greely’s mutual aid agreements with Delta Junction and Rural Deltana fire communities.
The administrative furlough period has ended; however, Fort Greely continues to experience constraints on the use of overtime making it exceedingly difficult to fill the day-to-day vacancies within Fort Greely’s Fire and Emergency Services. That being said, there has not been a single instance where Fort Greely has not been able to respond to a call for service to either community.
Fort Greely will continue to provide mutual aid to the City of Delta Junction based on the availability of resources in accordance with the terms and guidelines set forth in the agreement.
