Augtoberfest has arrived in Denali!
Healy, Alaska – August 2nd-3rd, 2013 Bavarian brew fests hold centuries of tradition in the craft brewing community. Worldwide, it is possible to mention Oktoberfest in any bar and find someone with information, a story, or plans to attend the Shangri-La for beer enthusiasts found in Bavaria. Given the depth of the Alaskan craft brew scene it is easy to find brewers and drinkers alike who are well-educated in the long traditions of beer craft. Augtoberfest, held on Aug. 2nd-3rd at the 49th State Brewing Co. in Healy, AK, provides a platform for beer lovers from all walks of life to revel in the brewing traditions of the past while experiencing a real-Alaskan festival with a fresh brewed Alaskan craft beer.
This year’s Augtoberfest is host to one of the biggest concerts of the season! Trampled by Turtles, Matt Lewis and the Medicine, John Craigie, Mighty High, and Alaska Blaskapelle are gracing the stage in the beer garden at the 49th State Brewing Co.
The Bavarian influence is abundant and found in the comradery in the beer tents, the authentic Bavarian menu, and, of course, the beer! The 49th will be introducing rare beers from around the world and special release brews from the 49th State Brewing Co. This year the 49th has teamed up with King Street Brewing Co. from Anchorage to create a Schwartzbier (Black Beer). If you’ve ever wondered what happens when brewers put their heads together, this is a beer you have to try!
Whether ordering a burger the size of your head, Alderwood smoked ribs that fall off the bone, or a local organic salad the food at the 49th will not disappoint. Our award winning craft beer is brewed on premises and can be enjoyed in the beer garden while playing disc golf, bocce ball, horseshoes, or bags. The 49th’s outdoor concert series has brought international acts such The Wailers and Dark Star Orchestra as well as Alaskan favorites like The Denali Cooks, The Photons, and The Rebel Blues Band. The “Into the Wild” bus from the movie is in the garden and visitors are welcome to go aboard to see the memorabilia on display. As we are located 8 miles north of the Denali hub, we offer a shuttle for a worry free visit.
“Our outdoor summer concerts make memories that tell the tale of a true Alaskan summer.”
“A place where locals dine and tourists make memories.”
