Marc S. Nouchi, 47, passed away November 8, 2012 in Delta Junction, Alaska.
He was born in Wailuku, Hawaii on September 21, 1965 to Hakaru and Miyoko Nouchi. In 1983 he joined the Army and was stationed in Honolulu, as well as various other stations in both Europe and the United States. His military experience was in Signal Intelligence Non-Morse Interceptor. He was honorably discharged in 1992. Missing military service he eventually joined the Alaska National Guard and serviced from 1998 until 2005.
After leaving military service he worked various jobs in the lower 48 before becoming a police officer and moved to Kake, AK. There he met the love of his life, Misty Hanson who was at the beginning intimidated by his policeman’s persona. She soon learned that he was actually a “big teddy bear” and followed him to Ketchikan where they were married in 1999. In May 2000 their son Aaron was born. To Marc the world revolved around his family. However, much to his family’s dismay he couldn’t seem to settle in one place! He worked as a police officer in Barrow, AK., Cordova, AK., Sand Point, AK., Kake, AK and Ft. Greely, AK. This continual moving, along with his love of fast cars finally came to a stop when Misty said enough is enough and Delta Junction became their home where Marc worked for OCS from 2009 to the present.
He is survived by his wife Misty and sons Aaron, Bryan, Adam and Curtis. His mother, Miyoko Oga; sisters Truly (Russ) Streng of Aubrey, TX.; Christy (Alan) Bradley, Lolo, MT.; and brother Matthew Nouchi, Irving, TX; as well as various nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Hakaru Nouchi and brothers Rory and Anson Nouchi.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 1, 2012, Living Waters Assembly of God Church in Delta Junction, AK at 1:00 pm. Burial will be in Honolulu, HI at Punchbowl National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fairbanks Funeral Home.
