Marvin Gerald Rasmussen, 75, passed away suddenly at home in Delta Junction, AK on August 26, 2012.
Born June 9, 1937, one of 10 children of Gunnar and Blanche Rasmussen of Harlowton, MT. Marvin grew up in central Montana, graduating from Harlowton High School in 1956.
He worked for the Milwaukee Railroad until enlisting in the Army in 1960 and graduated from the Army’s Armor School at Fort Knox . After his release from the Army he continued to serve as a member of the Montana Army National Guard and the Alaska Air and Army National Guard until retirement in 1989.
Returning to work for the railroad, Marvin attended Montana State University, where he met and married his wife Ann. Graduating in 1969, he went on to teach science in at schools in Montana, New South Wales Australia and Alaska.
He retired from teaching and the Delta/Greely School District in 1993. After retirement Marvin continued to enjoy his interests in hunting, fishing and the outdoors but never before 11am after Rush Limbaugh.
He took great pleasure in caring for his dogs and horses, as well having lunch with his grandchildren.
Marvin is survived by his wife Ann, daughter Sonja of Seattle, WA, daughter and son-in-law Mathea & Steve Meurer of Delta junction, daughter and son-in-law Mollie & Lee Vice of Eielson AFB, AK, daughter Ann of Delta Junction, grandsons Logan & Jakob Meurer, granddaughters Aisley Vice & Clara Meurer, brother Albert of Orlando, FL, sisters Adele Chatham of Mineral Wells, TX & Blanche Blum of Billings, MT, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Linden, Wilfred (Bud), Gerald, Robert and sisters Norma & Darlene.
Marvin was a lifelong advocate and ardent supporter of our Military Service Members, the Constitution and the 2nd Amendment.

Services will be private with burial in Harlowton, Montana at a later date.
