James V. Schooley (1942-2012)
Twenty-three year Alaska resident, James Vernon Schooley, 69, of Delta Junction, died August 22, 2012, at his residence, surrounded by his family after a battle with cancer.
A funeral service will be held at 4:00pm, Thursday, August 30, 2012, at the Delta Junction Moose Lodge #911, with a viewing from 3:30 until the time of the service at the Lodge. Burial will take place at Rest Haven Cemetery, Delta Junction at 5:30pm. The service will be officiated by the Moose Lodge 911 and the American Legion, Jack Warren Post #22. Pallbearers will be Dan Blajeski, Wayne Burns, Doug Fett, Bucky Lemke, Walter Stockwell, and David Sutherland.
Jim was born August 30, 1942, in Richmond, California. He served in the United States Army. Jim was a business entrepreneur in Delta Junction with his late wife, Loretta, with J-L Ventures, Alaska Motor Coaches, and Sunshine Services. He was skilled in construction trades. Jim married Cheryl on September 16, 2011 in Delta Junction and they enjoyed cruises together. He also had a passion for blackjack and fishing, and boating with his buddies.
He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Schooley of Delta Junction; and sister, Nancy Williams of Delta Junction. Jim was preceded in death by his parents.
