We regret to announce the passing of our beloved mother Susan M. Conant. She passed away suddenly and unexpectedly from a heart attack on January 14, 2010 at the age of 51.
She was born the daughter of Warren B. and Grace R. Conant on March 26, 1958 on Lockbourne Air Force Base Columbus Ohio.
Susan moved to Alaska in 1972 and lived there most of her life in areas such as Anchorage, Juneau, Moose Creek, North Pole, Delta Junction and her final residence was in Fairbanks.
She worked many different jobs in her life a lot of them were in management she also was a cake decorator and owned her own bakery / deli. She worked hard throughout her entire life. Susan was active in many area churches and was an arts and crafts teacher and social coordinator at the Golden Towers.
She will always be remembered as someone who put her family and others before herself. Someone who was willing to do anything she could for someone in need. She showed love and compassion for everyone through her words and actions. She was always quick with a smile. She was a wonderful loving grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her grandkids. She loved being in the outdoors, going camping, and crafting or just spending time with friends and family. She will be deeply missed by her friends and Family.
She was preceded in death by her father, Warren. She is survived by her mother Grace; son, Jeffery Hibnes; daughters, Jessica Brasier and Jennifer Hibnes, granddaughter, Selena Hibnes; grandsons, William Gardner and Kiernan Brasier; brothers, Ernie and James Conant and sister Teresa Leitzke.
A memorial service will be held at 4p.m., Sunday January 24, at Friends Church, 1485 30th Ave. Fairbanks, Alaska. Flowers and Condolences can be sent to her family at 796 Badger Rd., North Pole, AK 99705 or to the church the day of the memorial.
